Early horn is a one piece casting. Look for the seam in the middle...not there. Look at the fins also, more rounded.
Two piece casting is often cheaper.

I saw that....... Mr. Only Only, is now mister Mr. Early Early Only Only. I'd like to know why he thinks shipping the original mounting boards costs $50 extra dollars.

I've got it in my head that the first 811 was the single piece H-811 (thick, heavy) followed by the 811A (thinner, welded two piece) and then the 811B (thinner yet). Don't quote me though. The circa 1952 single piece 811 is a beautiful thing but must have been a bear to cast as it was replaced almost immediately with the two piece welded job. The single piece 811s are quite rare.
An ex-Altec employee told me that at some point in about 1956 a bean counter decided that the casting supplier was charging too much to weld the halves of the 811 together, and that money would be saved by doing it in house. Soon the Santa Monica Blvd. plant had piles of 811 castings sitting around, with clods of dirt from the casting process still stuck to the parts. The company soon found that it had difficulty welding the halves together with sufficient accuracy, and so the job was given back to the supplier.
Does the "MADE IN USA" print mean that they were for export?
